My Books Library Privacy Policy Last edited on 2017-01-15
This privacy policy has been compiled to better serve those who are concerned with how their 'Personally Identifiable
Information' (PII) is being used online. PII, as described in US privacy law and information security, is information
that can be used on its own or with other information to identify, contact, or locate a single person, or to identify
an individual in context. Please read this privacy policy carefully to get a clear understanding of how I collect,
use, protect or otherwise handle your Personally Identifiable Information in accordance with My Books - Library Android App.
What personal information do I collect from the people that use this app?
I do not collect information or any other details from visitors or users of this app.
Why does this app request permission to access your camera?
This application can directly scan barcodes from books or photograph their covers with the camera to add them
to the library. Even so, it is not necessary to grant permissions if you do not want these functionalities, and you
can still manually enter the bar code or look for a cover on the internet. No information about your scans or searches
will be collected.
And why request permission to access your SD card?
When you want to back up the books saved in the application, you can choose whether to save them to your sd card or to
the phone's internal memory. No other file will be read or modified than the backups of the application itself.
Third-party disclosure
I do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your Personally Identifiable Information.
Third-party links
You can navigate to third-party websites when you search for books in this app, clicking on a "Details Page" button.
Google
I have not enabled Google AdSense on this app and I do not plan to do so in the future.
California Online Privacy Protection Act
CalOPPA is the first state law in the nation to require commercial websites and online services to post a privacy
policy. The law's reach stretches well beyond California to require any person or company in the United States
(and conceivably the world) that operates websites collecting Personally Identifiable Information from California
consumers to post a conspicuous privacy policy on its website stating exactly the information being collected
and those individuals or companies with whom it is being shared. Read more
According to CalOPPA, I agree to the following:
- Users can use this app anonymously.
- Once this privacy policy is created, I will add a link to it in the Play Store.
- The Privacy Policy link includes the word 'Privacy' and can easily be found on the page specified above.
- You can look for any Privacy Policy changes when you update the app.
Does this app allow third-party behavioral tracking?
It's also important to note that I do not allow third-party behavioral tracking.
COPPA (Children Online Privacy Protection Act)
I do not specifically market to children under the age of 13 years old.
CAN SPAM Act
The CAN-SPAM Act is a law that sets the rules for commercial email, establishes requirements for commercial messages,
gives recipients the right to have emails stopped from being sent to them, and spells out tough penalties for
violations.
You are safe because I will never collect your email address.
